For all of you last minute July 4th planners, I have some cheap July 4th events for you to choose from.

July 3rd, tonight, there is a free fireworks show at the Oregon Gardens in Silverton.

On Saturday, July 5th, there is a fireworks show in Detroit, Oregon.

On July 4th there is a free fireworks show in Mt. Angel, Oregon.

July 4th, 2 to 10:30 pm, at Salem Riverfront Park there is a fireworks show, live entertainment, extreme motorcycle exhibit and classic car show. There is a suggested donation of $3.

If you don't want to drive too far this July 4th, go to http://www.oregonlive.com/fireworks/ for celebrations near you.

St. Patrick's Day Celebration

     Did you know that Saint Patrick's Day falls during Holy Week, the week preceding Easter, this year? The last time Saint Paddy's day has fallen during Holy week was in 1940. So, if you are still planning to celebrate Saint Paddy's Day, here are a few last minute celebration ideas.

• Saint Paddy's Day weekend celebration at the Thirsty Lion in Portland from 3/14-3/17.
• Corvallis Saint Patrick's Day Festival featuring Irish dancers, music, games and food.
• McMenamins is celebrating this weekend with music, dancers, pipers, and, of course, beer.
• Kells Irish Festival in downtown Portland with events for kids and adults.
• The Shamrock Run is on Sunday March 16 at the Waterfront Park in downtown Portland. This event is for adult and children who like or love to run. The adult runners can win their weight in Beer!
